BA1 TinderBox Environment Design.

Sketches and Values.

I tried to take scenes from 'the tinderbox' and re-design them in a Iron Age Britain style. I took the castle, the forest and the village but then I wanted something different so I went for a druidic feel waterfall which matched my characters feel.

My favourite one is the forest one. I really like the light and the dark feel. Also the integration of the  tree and rope from the Tinderbox really does it for me. For the final I'll add some Iron Age props into the forest such as a dropped shield/sword or a head on a stick.

Colour Studies.

Looking at the colour studied I can see that still the forest is my favourite however I also like the castle with the sunset. Potential for a second environment.

Final Environment Painting.

I've never been much of a environment fan and it's something I've never really tried and the first time at doing anything environment based as a digital painting in photoshop. My final is a bit rushed and I would've liked to spend more time putting details into it, like extra foliage and working on extra highlights and shadows within the trees bark and the floor. However for a first try and the time I put into it I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

Final environment Variation with character.

I actually prefer the colour scheme of this environment and I think it works pretty well with the feel of my final character. I would've liked to of adjusted the lighting of the environment to suit my characters more and also work on the light coming from my characters glow into the surrounding bushes and trees more. Again this is something I required more time for-- something to take into consideration for future projects.
